The reading experience
Every person has different interests. Some people like reading, others like videogames, others like to play sports. A lot of people I know like to read. This may not be true for everyone, but in my life, I know many people who love to read. What is it about books that draw people in? Maybe it's the new worlds described that play with imaginations. Maybe it's the calming affect on the brain. Maybe people just like to read. Regardless of the reason, people do love to read. Books for me have always been intriguing because of the language the author uses to tell a story. William Shakespeare uses a wide variety of vocabulary to write his plays. Markus Zusak makes words come alive. Every author has a different writing style. The different ways people write allow a story to become that much more interesting. Now, there are people in the world who despise reading. Reading does not click with some people, and that is a shame. I believe that a person can enjoy reading, all they have to do is find the right book. Reading is a lot different from watching a television show; people understand the writer's thought process in books - unlike on t.v. shows. Words have the power to change lives. I don't think people realize this. The newspaper was so popular back in earlier times - and still is today - because journalists tell stories with a pen and paper. (Nowadays, people tend use computers). Words can change a person. Just wait and see. Who knows, that person could be you.
